Frequently Asked Questions
Courses and e-learning
Are these courses the right ones for me?
If you are a physician of any specialization confronted with disorders of muscles and nerves and interested in broadening your knowledge with the latest diagnostic method of neuromuscular ultrasound, the answer is YES. The only requirements are access to an appropriate ultrasound equipment and a stable internet connection.
I have never attended an online course before and I am not sure if this is the right learning format for me?
We – including ourselves, who built this platform – were all educated in live face-to-face teaching and are therefore mainly used to this method. However, today´s e-learning technologies are one step ahead of traditional learning by engaging you interactively, while allowing you to study whenever you find the time.
As for those who like taking notes (like Doris): we also provide you with a workbook you can use alongside throughout the course.
What if I have a question that is not answered in the course?
Then you get in touch with us. We might not be physically standing in front of you during the course, but we are always there to clarify anything you want to know. Rather than considering not seeing us for 16 hours during the course, consider us virtually next to you for the whole duration of your subscription. Just drop us a note via the contact sheet and we will get back to you as soon as possible, either via email or we might suggest a virtual meeting.
Where should I start?
We advise you to start with the course on carpal tunnel syndrome. It deals with a well-defined and easily understandable area where you get to know the principles of seeing the clinical symptoms and the electrophysiological examination results together with the ultrasound findings. You can practise image optimization and all principles of diagnosing with ultrasound. Due to the high frequency of carpal tunnel syndrome chances are pretty good that you will deal with it in your first nerve ultrasound report anyway.
Do I have the right equipment?
Ultrasound of nerves indeed requires some specific equipment, especially when it comes to scanning of small nerves.
Your usual vascular probe (linear, about 7-9 MHz) will work well for the sciatic nerve, as it provides adequate penetration depth for a deep-lying, but yet the biggest nerve in human anatomy.
For other nerves of a reasonable size of some square millimeters – which applies e.g. to the median or the common peroneal nerve – you will do fine with a linear probe working with frequencies of about 12-15 MHz. They provide you with a good overview, yet also allow judging detailed morphology.
When it comes to smaller nerves like e.g. the palmar branch of the median nerve or the long thoracic nerve, the 12-15 MHz will be useful for you to localize the nerve, but for judging it throughout its course, you will do better with a 18 MHz or above linear probe.
Please note that a general recommendation is not possible, because there are various manufacturers and differences in the personal perception of the optimal ultrasound image. If you intend to invest: Attend the next conference in your area and test all machines and probes you can grab.
How do I start?
After signing in to the platform you can book courses. Depending on which payment method you choose, the subscription starts immediately (Paypal) or, if you pay by invoice, after your account has been activated by us. After activation the course shows up on your dashboard and you can start right away!
Can I access the courses anywhere, any time?
Whenever you have access to a computer, an internet connection and your log-in details – you can access the courses.
How long can I access a course?
After booking a course you have access to it for six months. This is less due to us, but rather for your benefit. Studies on e-learning show that without a time limit, courses tend rather to be “forgotten” than finished 😉
You will be sent a monthly reminder about the remaining time of access.
Can I download the courses?
No, our courses only work online. You need internet access to access the courses.
How much are the courses?
The regular fees are:
Carpal tunnel syndrome: 48 € (including tax)
Basic course: 660 € (including tax)
Payment can be made by Paypal or invoice.

Do I have to download a special software for accessing the courses?
No. The courses only run online. You just need your browser.
Someone else is paying for my course. How do I handle payment?
Just contact our team. We will send you an email with all the necessary steps.
What about the money-back-guarantee?
You should feel good when learning with us. That is why we try to describe our courses in as much detail as possible and built the carpal tunnel course as a small “starter” so you get an insight into our way of teaching before deciding to book the Basic Course.
However, your expectations may not be fulfilled and we therefore offer a 30 day money back guarantee for the Basic course. Please note that you can only claim you money back if you have viewed less than 30% of the Basic course. You will receive a reimbursement of 100% of your fee.
If you want your money back, send us and email and let us know why you don’t like the course. We appreciate feedback for improvement.
In this case you cannot claim CME points.

CME Credits
What are CME credits?
CME stands for continuing medical education and summarizes educational activities that help medical professionals stay competent and broaden their knowledge about new developments in their work environment.
CME is counted in credits. One hour of education equals one credit.
In Europe CME accreditation is provided by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and there are agreements of mutual recognition of credits with the American Medical Association in the USA and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
For achieving CME accreditation, learning materials have to comply with the highest standards of medical education.
How do I claim my CME credits?
- You pass the quiz of a course and
- You fill out the feedback questionnaire for the course.
Then your certificate will automatically be issued and you can download it.
Do I have to do the quiz?
What if I fail the quiz?
The passmark of the quiz is 75%. You can take the quiz as often as you need to.
To optimally prepare you for the quiz, we built in the quick checks after each chapter. These are the types of questions you will be asked. So the quiz should not hold any surprises for you.
